Babylon 5: You know what I like least about Star Trek? Its inconsistencies. It takes a lot of work to write a show that has continuity, and Babylon 5 has that.

Battlestar Galactica: As someone who was raised on the original show, I give the new show my much-belated approval. I don't know about sexual tension between Apollo and Starbuck—they're supposed to be "Buddies" as in dick-flick "Buddy Movie"-style buddies, and I love Dirk Benedict—but Katie Sackhoff (sp?) is more than OK by me.

I am disappointed by the whole Starbuck forgiving her abusive mother storyline, and who cares if Starbuck's a Cylon? Abusive mothers are bad, period.

Bones: Take David Boreanaz's performance on Angel as an investigator, give him a badge, and remove the brooding vampire angst, and you have the reason I started watching the show. Add in the different tone employed by this procedural drama and that's why I'm still watching. Are you?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: I really enjoyed the movie, and so I rejected the TV series at first. When I heard that it was worth watching, I started and soon I was completely hooked. Then Sarah Michelle Gellar turned traitor, I sold my DVDs, and I am an Angel-owning-only girl. And I haven't watched them lately.

Dead Like Me: The basic things about this show are why I watch it: its relationship with Wonderfalls, a tough-yet-pure heroine. But I watched because the characters are intersting. Once again, fantasy beats the mundane for pithy-ness.

Eureka: This show is a welcome break from the heavy-hitting Sci Fi fare. Entertainment Weekly thinks it's supposed to be the X-Files. Bah! While touching on important topics, Eureka is a great summertime show: light, funny, yet relevant.

Farscape: Farscape was an excellent show, and according to the Season 3 Look Back, it was supposed to run for five years...which explains the finale. Thank you, Sci Fi, for the Peacekeeper Wars!

Firefly: I loved Joss Whedon's television show Firefly, and I think it's a ruddy shame that FOX cancelled it after only half a season. And stupid of them. This page on my website has an article which does a better job explaining Firefly than I could have done. At least we got the Serenity movie. I saw it twice during the special viewings and again in wide release. I have the DVDs. More would be nice!!

Mad Men: There are no aliens, no space ships--it's all real world stuff. And still I like it! How can this be? It's because I like character-driven shows, people! Usually that's been limited to sci-fi, because otherwise I'd have to watch some over-dramatic modern political drama, or a soap opera. I love Mad Men! (I knew I recognized Joan from somewhere; she was a guest star on Firefly!) It might help that it takes place a decade before I was born, so it may as well be fiction--oh, wait, it kinda is!

Mythbusters: Okay, how can I explain my love of this show? Actually, I won't bother. If you have seen MythBusters and don't like it, that's your business. Everyone I know who has seen it—including the non-geeks I know—loves the show.

Smallville: Babes, Superman, fun stories, and babes. Happy Thursday!

Stargate SG-1: I know, it had to get to its final season before I acknowledged it on this web page, but I've been watching it since Farscape was still on the air. Good show. Dean Anderson kicks @$$! But Ben Browder broods like no one else.

Stargate Atlantis: Although the original Elizabeth Weir was better as an accomplished diplomat and polyglot, the new Weir isn't bad. But I'm a big fan of John Shephard, Ronan, and, of all people, McKay.

Supernatural: I've looked at my favorite series of books and determined that they are mystery and suspense. Also, they tend towards fantasy mysteries, though not always. Mix in the babe-a-licious-ness and you have the perfect Thursday.

Tru Calling: Tru Calling was a great show. I liked it because it was the perfect show to watch at the end of the week—thrilling, suspenseful, with some humor and always a warm-fuzzy feeling when Tru saves the day. Not to mention that it stars Eliza Dushku, one of my favorite actresses.

Xena: I experienced chills, literally, watching these episodes. I enjoy it because of the strong female characters (and the deliberate cheese factor). And, of course, I'm biased towards shows featuring tall brunettes with blue eyes. Wonderfalls: This was a great, funny show. I'm sure it would have made women with grim senses of humor more popular, but the world is not ready for it. The show was cancelled after a mere 4 episodes, even faster than Firefly. The FOX network sucks. Long live the Save Wonderfalls website!

Pet Star: This show is my guilty pleasure. My mother got me started watching Pet Star and it is just the cutest, funniest, and sweetest game show on TV. So after watching Simon Cowell ruining the day of another bad singer, watch Mario Lopez and company on Animal Planet.
