Read A Book!

Mr. Handy is a character from The Tick. He often makes allusions to works of literature. When he makes these references, he typically receives no more than blank stares. He then screams at the uncomprehending audience, "Read a book!" When I decided to put a page on my website for entertaining prose, I couldn't resist using Handy as its mascot.

One of my biggest pet peeves is the lack of literacy in the world today. I'm not going to use my website to try to share every piece of literature that I feel people should read; I don't have enough space on this server for that.

Instead, I am going to use some of the space available to post things that I like that aren't found everywhere. Works that I post in this area have, in my opinion, some real value.

You can read excerpts from books that I really like.

Peruse some lovely poems that I like, and one that is hard to find.

Read some articles and learn a little something.
